ABOUT Foxtail Millet Kheer RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup foxtail millets/korralu/korra biyyam
  2. 2 cups jaggery
  3. 1/2 cup milk
  4. 1/2 cup coconut
  5. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  6. 1 tbsp ghee
  7. 10 to 12 cashew nuts
  8. 10 to 12 raisins

Instructions

  1. wash and soak foxtail millets for half an hour to one hour.
  2. pressure cook it for 3 to 4 whistles. or cook in a thick bottomed vessel till the millets turn soft.
  3. add milk and jaggery to it. cook until the jaggery melts.
  4. add grated coconut and mix it well.
  5. heat ghee in a kadai, fry cashew nuts and raisins.
  6. add them to the above kheer. and mix well. add cardamom powder.
  7. serve foxtail millet kheer hot or warm.
