Valentine's Day Rose Cake

Ingredients to make Valentine's Day Rose Cake

  • 200 grams plain flour/all purpose flour
  • 60 grams butter
  • 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon pure rose water
  • 3 tablespoons rooh-afza syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tin sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 40 grams caster sugar
  • 2 drops red food color
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

How to make Valentine's Day Rose Cake

  1. Grease and dust your cake tin with butter and flour. Preheat your oven to 170C.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and vanilla essence. Add rooh afza syrup and rose water and keep aside.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda thrice.
  4. Add half of the flour mixture and half the milk to butter mixture. Incorporate well and mix the remaining ingredients slowly.
  5. Add red food color. You should have a thick pouring consistency batter. Pour in greased tin and bake at 170C for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Once done, an inserted knife or a toothpick should come out clean.
  7. Cool the cake on a wire rack and decorate it as you like!
