ABOUT Gyro RECIPE

A greek dish made with meat on a vertical rotiserie usually served in a pita or sandwich

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 small cucumber unpeeled cut into slices
  2. 500 gm beef cut into thin strips
  3. 4 pita breads
  4. 2 tbsp olive oil
  5. 1 medium tomato cut into rings
  6. 1 small onion cut into rings
  7. 1 small raddish cut in thin strips
  8. 1/2 cup purple lettuce shredded
  9. 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  10. salt and pepper for seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a pan, add oil and cook the beef slices until they are brown and cooked.
  2. Layer half of each pita break with tomato slices, cucumber, raddish, onion, lettuce and beef slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Fold each pita over the filling.
  4. Serve with lebnah or tzatziki sauce.
