ABOUT Aliv/Haleem Ladoos RECIPE

Haleem/Aliv/Garden cress seeds are very rich in iron and folic acid. Contains calcium, Vitamin A,C and E. Because of its high iron and protein content, it is often given to lactating women. Beneficial for kids and older people due to its rich vitamins and minerals content. Ideal in winters to provide warmth to the body.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Haleem/Aliv/Garden cress seeds - 50 gm
  2. Fresh Grated coconut - 100gm
  3. Coconut water - 1 cup
  4. Jaggery - 250gm
  5. Cashew nuts - 2tbsp , chopped
  6. Almond meal/powder - 50gm
  7. Cardomon powder - 1tsp
  8. Ghee - 2tbsp

Instructions

  1. Take Haleem/Aliv/Garden cress seeds in a bowl and pour coconut water/normal water and soak the seeds for minimum 4hours or overnight.
  2. Heat a pan and add ghee.
  3. Add in the jaggery and melt.
  4. Add the haleem seeds and coconut.
  5. Cook the mixture over medium heat till all the water is evaporated.
  6. Add the chopped cashew nuts and almond meal.
  7. Lastly add the cardamom powder when the mixture is dry completely.
  8. Remove from heat and cool the mixture.
  9. Shape them in form of ladoos and serve.
