About Oats Dosa Recipe

A variation to the regular dosa, a very healthy one but with no compromise in taste.

Oats Dosa

Ingredients to make Oats Dosa

  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1/2 cup dosa rice
  • 2 cups Oats
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • salt to taste
  • oil to make dosa

How to make Oats Dosa

  1. Soak urad dal, rice and fenugreek seeds all together for at least 4 hours.
  2. Soak the oats for 10 minutes.
  3. Grind all these to a smooth paste and add salt. Mix well. The batter should be smooth.
  4. No need to ferment it.
  5. Heat tawa and sprinkle some water, when it evaporates take a laddle full of batter and spread it with the flat part of the laddle and make a circle.
  6. Spread oil over Dosa and cook/roast it till it turns golden brown in colour.
  7. Remove it from tawa using spatula and serve hot with chutney.

My Tip:

When you put the batter on the tawa, remove tawa from the flame and put elsewhere otherwise the batter sticks on the tawa and will not spread easily. For kids just spread some grated cheese over the Dosa to enhance the taste.
