Ingredients to make seddho puli

  • rice flour 500
  • coconut 1 (grated)
  • date palm jaggery 400 gms
  • salt
  • cardamom powder 1 /2 tspn
  • banala leaves (optional)

How to make seddho puli

  1. take a pan,add coconut,stir
  2. break the date palm jaggery with mortar & pistol add to the coconuts. stir & mix till the whole things will incorporate to each other and will get a sticky consistency
  3. now boil water in a pan,add salt & cardamom powder,keep the flame low
  4. add the rice flower,stir, mix totally,switch off the flame
  5. knead to a smooth dough,then make balls and roll them in circular shape of puri
  6. stuff with the coconut - date palm jaggery mixture, sealed the side.
  7. keep a banana leave at the bottom of the tiffin box,place the dumplings, topped again with a banana leaves. keep the lid of box tightly
  8. pour some water in pressure cooker so that it will reach 1/3 portion of the the tiffin box from the bottom
  9. place the tiffin box,keep the lid of pressure cooker,give one whistle
  10. switch off the flame.keep the cooker till it opens at it's own
  11. serve hot

My Tip:

banala leaves give a good flavour to the dumplings
