Ingredients to make Katlu

  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • 1 Cup jaggery
  • 1cup ghee ( melted )
  • 2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp fenugreek powder/ methi seeds powder
  • 2tsp katlu( easily get from market)/batrisu
  • 1 tsp Sauff powder
  • 1/2 cup almond shredded

How to make Katlu

  1. Take wheat flour in kadai and add ghee mix and saute. Continuous stirring till its became little brown and aromas come from it.then switch off the gas.keep a side.
  2. Add katlu, sauff powder,ginger powder,methi powder some almond shredded add and mix it .
  3. Katlu/32 type of herbs powder
  4. Heat 1 tbsp ghee and gud/ jaggrey in kadai .mix and stir continuously.
  5. Jaggery is melted switch off the gas keep aside and add flour mixture mix well and set in greased plate. Gently press and flat it add almond for garnish and press it now cut in square and cool down for an hour then keep it in the air container.

My Tip:

You can add your choice of dry fruits.
