Vegetable masala khichdi

Ingredients to make Vegetable masala khichdi

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1/3 cup moong daal
  • 1/4 cup tuver daal
  • 1/4 cup chana daal
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tej patta [bay leaf]
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon
  • 1 cloves
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tsp ginger chilli paste
  • 1 brinjle chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1 spoon peanut.
  • 1 pinch asfoetida
  • 3 cup water
  • salt to taste

How to make Vegetable masala khichdi

  1. Wash rice and daal.
  2. Also chop the veggies and keep aside.
  3. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker.Add the spices-'cumin seeds, tej patta, cinnamon,cloves,saute till the spices crackles.
  4. Add all the veggies,paste.
  5. Add all the spices.Add the rice and daal.
  6. Pressure cook for 3 whistle.

My Tip:

Serve masala khichdi with ghee.
