Ingredients to make Short Crust Pastry

  • 1 ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup cold butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tblsp sugar
  • ½ cup ice cold water

How to make Short Crust Pastry

  1. Measure out the flour, salt, sugar into a large bowl Fill ice cubes into a glass. Pour ½ cup of water in it.
  2. Chop very cold butter into squares. Using a pastry cutter or your hands, mash in the butter into the flour mix.
  3. Mash until the flour resembles coarse bread crumbs Use just enough water to bring the dough together. Do not knead.
  4. If you see pieces of butter that’s a good thing. Flatten and refrigerate for atleast ½ an hour before using.
  5. Flour a work surface. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to use as per the recipe’s requirement.

hi it depends on the recipe so u must keep checking. you can bake blind for 20 minutes and then bake till it's golden on top
