ABOUT Aloo 65 RECIPE

This is a typical south Indian starter, spicy and absolutely delicious, made with potatoes.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Potatoes - 2 to 3
  2. Red chilly pwd - 1 ½ tsp
  3. Coriander pwd - 1 ½ tsp
  4. Garam masala pwd - 1 tsp
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  6. Corn flour - 1 ½ tbsp
  7. Maida flour - 1 ½ tbsp
  8. Yogurt - ¾ cup
  9. Chopped garlic - 2 tsp
  10. Split green chilly - 1 or 2
  11. Curry leaves - a twig
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Wash and cook potatoes until it is three-fourth done
  2. Allow to cool and peel off the skin.
  3. Chop the potato into fine bite-sized cubes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, add 1 tsp red chilly pwd, coriander pwd and garam masala.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste, corn flour and maida.
  6. Add salt and mix well.
  7. Finally add yogurt to it and make a thick paste.
  8. Add finely cubed par boiled potato pieces
  9. Mix well, so that the potato cubes are coated well with the marinade.
  10. Allow to rest for 5 mins.
  11. Heat oil in a fry pan.
  12. Add masala coated potato to hot oil.
  13. Fry to golden brown in medium flame.
  14. Drain aside in a kitchen towel.
