ABOUT Mutton Korma RECIPE

A spicy, creamy and droolicious mutton gravy based recipe....which is so yum that you can even pair this up with white rice....

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mutton – 500gms
  2. Curd – 1/2 cup beaten
  3. Turmeric – 1/4th tsp
  4. Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder - 2tsp
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Tomato paste – 1/2 cup
  7. Dry coconut powdered – 4 tbsp
  8. Green chillies - 3 to 4 slit
  9. Oil – 1/4th cup
  10. Onions – 3 to 4 medium sized (made into paste)
  11. Garlic ginger paste – 1 ½ tbsp
  12. Whole garam masala
  13. Green Cardamom pods 4
  14. Brown Cardamom – 1
  15. Cinnamon – 4 small pieces
  16. Cloves – 4
  17. Water – 2 ½ cups
  18. Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
  19. Cumin powder – 1 ½ tsp
  20. Garnish
  21. Browned onion – handful ( crushed )
  22. Green chillies – 2 chopped
  23. Green coriander – handful finely chopped
  24. Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and add one teaspoon of oil along with peeled and quartered onions and green chilies slit. Saute for a few mins till onions are translucent, then cool them and grind coarsely.
  2. Now take a pressure pan add oil and then add whole garam masala.
  3. After that add onion and green chilli paste, sauté well till light golden then add garlic ginger paste, sauté for a minute then add tomato paste and sauté till fat separates.
  4. After this add mutton and sauté well for 5min and then add dry coconut powder sauté for a min and then add curd while sautéing so that the curd doesn’t get curdled.
  5. Then add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, dhaniya powder, zeera powder and sauté well till fat separates.
  6. Now add water and pressure cook for 3 whistles or if you are cooking a normal pan, leave on sim till mutton is perfectly done and fat separates.
  7. Here you can also adjust the consistency of the gravy required.
  8. Now add everything under Garnish, cover the lid and put on dum for 5min. Serve hot!
