Ingredients to make Dal louki

  • 1/2 kg lauki diced
  • 2 tablespoon moong dal
  • Big tomato
  • chilli ginger garlic paste
  • Salt and spices
  • 1teaspoon jeera seeds
  • coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Pinch dry mango powder
  • Pinch garam masala
  • 1cup water

How to make Dal louki

  1. In a pan add some oil add jeera then tomato chopped then add ginger garlic paste stir well
  2. Add Lauki ,dal and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame stir continously
  3. Add all the spices then put some water and cook for 15 minutes to 20 minutes on slow flame I use pressure cooker 3 to 4 whistles will be enough
  4. When Dal is tender enough then it's ready to serve. garnish with coriander leaves and Sprinkle pinch Garam Masala and dry mango powder

My Tip:

Ginger garlic is optional but I use it for more flavours. Serve with hot paratha or chapati
