Ingredients to make Dahi Vadas

  • 3Cups urad dal soaked 4-5 hrs
  • curd 500 gms whisked
  • Green corriander chutney
  • Sweet tamarind chutney
  • red chilly powder 1tsp
  • Roasted cummin powder 1tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • sugar to taste
  • Fresh corriander

How to make Dahi Vadas

  1. SOAK 3 CUPS URAD DAL FOR 4-5 HOURS, DRAIN & TRANSFER TO A GRINDER
  2. GRIND IT WITH VERY LITTLE WATER
  3. WHISK THE BATTER TILL IT IS LIGHT & FLUFFY
  4. ADD SALT TO TASTE
  5. WHISK AGAIN FOR 2 MINS
  6. SCOOP OUT SOME BATTER
  7. CAREFULLY DROP INTO HOT OIL
  8. DEEP FRY ON MEDIUM HEAT, FLIP AFTER 2 MINS
  9. FRY TILL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  10. SOAK FRIED VADAS IN WARM WATER FOR 20 MINS
  11. PRESS THEM LIGHTLY
  12. SQUEEZE & KEEP ASIDE
  13. ADD 1/2 TSP SUGAR, SALT TO TASTE TO 4 CUPS CURD, WHIP
  14. ARRANGE THE VADAS IN A SERVING PLATE
  15. TOP WITH THE BEATEN CURD
  16. ADD GREEN & SWEET TAMARIND CHUTNEYS TO TASTE
  17. SPRINKLE RED CHILLI & ROASTED CUMIN POWDERS
  18. GARNISH WITH FRESH CORIANDER
