A simple dosa made out of rice and tomatoes. The tangy taste and colour making it attractive to the kids.

Ingredients to make TOMATO ATTU - tomato dosa

  • rice - 1 big glass
  • tomatoes - 5
  • green chillies - 2
  • TOPPING:
  • Finely cut 2 onions
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 green chillies

How to make TOMATO ATTU - tomato dosa

  1. Wash and soak the rice overnight or for 4 hours. Wash it thoroughly.
  2. Cut the tomatoes coarsely.
  3. Transfer rice, tomatoes and green chillies to a big mixi grinder and grind to a smooth texture. Consistency should be thin, between rava dosa and idli batter.
  4. Add jeera and required salt to the batter.
  5. For the topping, finely chop onion, coriander, green chillies and keep aside.
  6. Similar to Rava dosa, briskly pour the batter on a heated greased dosa tawa from outside to inwards.
  7. Top it with the cut onion, chillies and coriander and slightly press it with the spatula (atlakada).
  8. Toss it and roast the other side .
  9. Serve it hot with Potato curry or chutney.
  10. Enjoy tasty tomato attus.

My Tip:

Reduce the tomato quantity if you find it very sour.
