ABOUT Thotakura Vepudu RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 4 bunches fresh amaranth leaves chopped
  2. 1 large onion, finely chopped
  3. 5 garlic
  4. big pinch turmeric pwd
  5. salt to taste
  6. 1 tbsp oil
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  8. 1 tsp split gram dal
  9. 3 dry red chillis de-seeded

Instructions

  1. Heat oil, add the garlic, cumin seeds, split gram dal, red chillis and saute for half a minute. Stir for 2-3 seconds.
  2. Add the onions and saute till the onions turn transparent. Add salt and turmeric pwd and saute further for a minute.
  3. Add the amaranth leaves and saute for 20 mts or till done, without lid, on low flame.
  4. Turn off heat and serve hot with rice.
