Ingredients to make Tawa macchi fry

  • 2 slices of king fish
  • 1tbs kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grounded pepper powder
  • 1tsp lime juice
  • 1tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2tsp+2tbs oil
  • Handful of curry leaves for garnishing

How to make Tawa macchi fry

  1. Take a small bowl and add chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt, blend them well. Now make a well like in centre of the bowl and add ginger garlic paste, lime juice and 2tsp oil and mix them well into a paste like form.
  2. Rub the mixture on both sides of each fish and keep for marination in the refrigerator for 30-40mins.
  3. Take a tawa, heat 2tbs oil and shallow fry the fish pieces for 4-5mins each side. Remove and keep the fishe aside.
  4. Now in the same oil add handful of curry leaves and toss until crisp.
  5. Place the fish pieces on a serving plate, sprinkle curry leaves and serve hot with few pieces of onion rings and lime wedges.

My Tip:

You can use any fish of your choice. Can be also served along with mayonnaise, tomato ketchup or Indian mint coriander chutney.
