Ingredients to make Aloo Tikki

  • (For 7-8 Potato Patties.) 4 large boiled potatoes
  • Oil for shallow frying.
  • 1tsp olive oil.
  • 1/4tsp dry mango powder
  • 1/4tsp turmeric pwd.
  • 1/4tsp corriander powder.
  • 1/4 tsp chillipowder
  • 1tsp Salt
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • ¼ tsp cumin seeds
  • 100 gms fresh Pea kernels
  • For stuffing:
  • Pineapple and pomegranate kernels to garnish.

How to make Aloo Tikki

  1. For stuffing. .. Heat oil 1tsp in a pressure cooker. Add pinch of asafoetida and cumin seeds.
  2. As they crackle add pea kernels and seasoning that is salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder and dry mango powder.
  3. Cover and cook till two whistles on high flame. Keep aside.
  4. For Tikkis.. Peel and Mash boiled potatoes finely. Divide it into 7-8 balls.. Take a ball of boiled potatoes flatten it on your palm .. and fill the pea mixture in it.
  5. Give it the shape of tikki . Similarly make all tikkis.
  6. Now heat a pan or griddle. Heat 2 tbsp oil. Now gently place your tikkis on it . Roast on medium flame.
  7. Once brown on one side flip it and roast on other side. You have to shallow fry and when done on both sides transfer to the serving plate.
  8. Garnish with Pineapple slice and pomegranate kernels. Your tikkis are ready to enjoy.
