Ingredients to make Fried cake | Tea shop cake | Vettu cake

  • Flour/maida- 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar- 1\2 cup (then make a powder of it)
  • Egg-1
  • Caradamon- 2
  • Baking soda- 1\2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence- 1\2 tsp
  • Oil to fry

How to make Fried cake | Tea shop cake | Vettu cake

  1. Powder the sugar with cardamon. Mix the flour with baking soda.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the flour mixture, powder sugar, egg, essence and mix to from a smooth non-sticky dough by adding water.
  3. Make a log of the dough and cut it into slices of 3\4 to 1"pieces. Make a cut on each piece at the centre.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai and fry them in batches. Drain them in kitchen tissues to remove the excess oil.
  5. Serve with tea/coffee.
