ABOUT GREEN MASALA RICE RECIPE

This is another innovative recipe of mom..whenever we made green masala for making curries, she would set aside a little to make this flavourful rice dish.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. (For Green Masala)
  2. Coriander Leaves.....1 cup
  3. Mint leaves ........... 1/2 cup
  4. Green Chillies........2-3
  5. Onions................1 chopped
  6. Tomatoes...........1 chopped
  7. Garlic.................7 to 8 cloves
  8. Ginger ...............1 inch piece
  9. (Other Ingredients)
  10. Rice ....... 1 cup
  11. Coriander powder .. 1/4 tsp
  12. Cumin powder ....... 1/4 tsp
  13. Turmeric powder ... 1/8 tsp
  14. Salt ..... to taste
  15. Oil ..... 2-3 tbsps

Instructions

  1. Grind all the ingredients mentioned in the green masala list and use as required.
  2. Wash and soak the rice. Heat the oil in a pan and add 1/4 cup of green masala paste.
  3. Saute it for a minute and add the salt and spice powders. Stir in the rice.
  4. Add 2 cups water and simmer.
  5. Cook until done.
