ABOUT YAM FRY RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Yam ....... 250 gms.
  2. Garlic ..... 1 small pod
  3. Ginger .... 1 small piece
  4. Curry leaves .. 2-3 sprigs
  5. Coriander leaves .. handful
  6. Green chillies ..... 2
  7. Salt ..... to taste
  8. Turmeric powder... 1/4 tsp.
  9. Coriander powder ... 1 tsp.
  10. Coriander powder ... 1 tsp.
  11. Tamarind juice ......... 4-5 tbsps.
  12. Oil .. to shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the yam into thin slices. Boil it in a pan adding salt.
  2. Drain and let it cool.
  3. Coarsely grind the curry leaves, coriander leaves, ginger , garlic and the green chillies. Add the tamarind juice and the dry masalas and salt to taste. Coat the boiled yam with the prepared masala and marinate for 2-3 hours.
  4. Shallow fry the slices using very little oil.
  5. Fry evenly until done flipping the sides carefully.
