Mutton Kalija Kadhai

Ingredients to make Mutton Kalija Kadhai

  • 500 gms Mutton liver
  • 1 bunch of Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Elaichi/ Cardamom
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 small Lemon
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 3 large sized Onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 pinch of Turmeric powder
  • Water as required
  • 1/2 cup Onion and Green chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp Fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 Tomato, finely chopped

How to make Mutton Kalija Kadhai

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the garam masalas, onions and fry it for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes. Add the onion paste and cook for another 5 minutes.
  2. Add the liver which has been cut in small-medium sized pieces. Add the cumin, coriander and turmeric powder. Cook this nicely for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the chilli powder and tomatoes, pour in some water and cover it with a lid. Let this cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Keep stirring in between, let it cook for a few more minutes on simmer and then add salt.
  5. Add the coriander leaves and stir well. Then add the kasuri methi and fresh cream.
  6. Serve this dish hot with roti, parathas or rice as desired.
My Tip: Add salt at the end otherwise the liver becomes stiff to eat.
