ABOUT Rasam Sadham (Rasam Rice) RECIPE

My most comfortable food on a lazy day at home is this Rasam Sadham (rasam rice) with any vegetable fry.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw rice 2 cups
  2. Thur dal 4 table spoons
  3. Finely chopped tomatoes 2
  4. Garlic pods 4
  5. Rasam Powder 3 tea spoons
  6. Turmeric powder
  7. Thin tamarind extract 1 cup
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Ghee 2 tea spoons
  10. Coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice and dal and transfer to the cooker vessel.
  2. Add all the ingredients mentioned under ingredients to the rice.(except ghee and coriander leaves)
  3. Pour in 6 cups of water.
  4. Pressure cook to 6 whistles and switch off.
  5. Once the steam is released, mash well with a ladle. Do the seasoning with mustard and cumin seeds. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with any vegetable stir fry.
