ABOUT Rice kheer with fruit and nuts RECIPE

It is a traditional dessert loved by everyone. It served as bhog prashad on many events. It is favourite of my hubby anf and my little cutie.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice 1/2 cup (soaked 4 hours)
  2. Milk 1 litre
  3. Saffron 5 - 6 strands
  4. Sugar 1/2 cup or to taste
  5. Green caradamom powder 2 teaspoon
  6. Aniseed powder 2 teaspoon
  7. Almond powder 4 tablespoon
  8. Almond 10 chopped
  9. Cashews 10 chopped
  10. Raisins 15
  11. Pistachio 2 tablespoon chopped
  12. Mixed fruits for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Put rice in a heavy bottomed vessel. With half cup water and cook with covered lid till rice becomes soft. Stir constantly.
  2. In another pan add milk and caradamom powder, almond powder, and saffron. Boil it on low flame and stir constantly to avoid burning.
  3. Boil it till it reduces to 700 gm. Add this milk to boiled rice and stir constantly .add chopped nuts.
  4. Cook 20 minutes on low flame and stir constantly. Add sugar and cook 5 mintues.
  5. Your kheer is ready. Garnish with chopped nuts and fruits. You can serve it hot or chilled.
