Prawn Malai Curry

Ingredients to make Prawn Malai Curry

  • 10 piece Jumbo Prawns
  • 50gm Khoya Kheer, grated
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 Dry Red chilli
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nut-Melon seed paste
  • 1 Bayleaf
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 tbsp Oil
  • 3 Green Cardamom
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1/2 tbsp Ghee
  • A pinch of garam masala

How to make Prawn Malai Curry

  1. Make a paste of the onion, tomato, ginger, dry red chilli. make another paste of the cashew nut and melon seed separately.
  2. Deep fry the prawns a little. but don't over fry it.
  3. Heat up oil in a pan. add cinnamon stick, cardamom, bay leaf. saute it a little bit. then add the 1st paste of onion, ginger, tomato, red chilli and cook it well.
  4. Now add cashew paste and melon seed paste. cook it well then add salt, turmeric powder, green chilli and a pinch of sugar.
  5. Now add the coconut milk and boil the gravy. add the fried prawns along with the grated khoya kheer. stir it well.
  6. Now add the garam masala powder on top and serve.
My Tip: Don't over fry the prawn otherwise it becomes too stiff.
