Ingredients to make Poha Almond Halwa

  • Poha (white or red) - 1 cup
  • almonds/ badam - 12 to 14
  • sugar -1/2 cup
  • ghee -1/2 cup
  • Milk - 3/4 cup
  • water -1/4 cup
  • Orange food colour- a pinch
  • Elachi powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • cashews - 6

How to make Poha Almond Halwa

  1. Dry roast badam in kadai and grind it to powder and keep aside.
  2. In mixie coarsely grind poha
  3. In a kadai add 2 table spoon ghee and fry poha in medium flame until golden brown.
  4. Add water and milk to it and cook well until poha is soft.
  5. Now add sugar and orange colour and stir for sometime .Add ghee now and then while stirring.
  6. When ghee starts to seperate add in badam powder and cardamom powder and mix well until everything blends together.switch off the flame.
  7. Fry cashews in ghee ,add to halwa to garnish.
  8. Tasty poha almond halwa is ready to be served.
