About Stuffed Mushroom Manchurian Recipe

We were just getting ready to go to the park when it suddenly started raining. The kids were bored so when the rain stopped we went to the mall close by. When we entered the vegetable section, I could not resist buying fresh looking mushroom. The next day I tried my hand making something different and here comes the result, a yummy Mushroom Manchurian dish!

Stuffed Mushroom Manchurian

Ingredients to make Stuffed Mushroom Manchurian

  • 250 gm button mushroom
  • 1 tsp china salt
  • 4 tbsp of all purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cornstratch
  • A pinch of red food colour
  • salt to taste
  • oil to deep fry
  • For Garnishing:
  • Few tomato slices
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 big sized boiled potato
  • 2 big sized onion finely chopped
  • 3 tsp green chillies finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp finely chopped sabi ( a local leafy vegetable)
  • 2 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp oil

How to make Stuffed Mushroom Manchurian

  1. First take out the stem part of the mushroom and chop it finely. Add the boiled and mashed potato into this.
  2. Now add 1 tsp of chopped green chili and 1 tbsp of corn stratch with salt and mix well. Stuff 1 tbsp of this mixture into the hollow part of the mushroom.
  3. Now make a thick batter adding the flour and corn starch with food colour, salt and water.
  4. Heat oil and dip the stuffed mushroom into the batter and coat it properly. Now slowly put this mushroom into the oil and deep fry in a medium flame till its done from both the sides.
  5. Meanwhile to prepare the masala, heat oil in a wok. Add in the chopped garlic, ginger and green chilli. Saute for 1 min on a high flame.
  6. Then add the onion with 3 tbsp of chopped sabi and saute for 3 mins. Add the sauces, salt and mix it well. Add the fried stuffed mushrooms and mix it in such a way that the masala will coat each mushroom properly.
  7. Garnish with the sliced tomatoes and rest of the chopped sabi. Serve it hot.

My Tip:

I didn't have spring onions so I have used sabi to add a green touch. You can add celery as well. While making the masala, remember the flame should be high.
