ABOUT Malai Kofta RECIPE

A tasty dish of soft paneer balls stuffed with cashew and raisins.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 300gm Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Few cashews, chopped
  4. Few raisins
  5. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  6. 4 Oniions, boiled
  7. 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  8. 2 tbsp Oil
  9. Oil to deep fry
  10. 1/2 cup Cashew paste
  11. 2 Bay Leaves
  12. 4 Cardamoms
  13. 2 tbsp Cream
  14. 2 Tbsp Cornflour
  15. 3-4 Green chillies
  16. 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  1. Roast the cashew and raisins.
  2. Smash the paneer by hand. then mix it with cornflour, cardamom powder and salt. make round shape balls by it and stuff the cashews and raisins into them.
  3. Deep fry them in oil, but do not let them turn brown.
  4. To make the gravy, take 2 tbsp oil in pan, add the bay leaf and cardamom. then add the boiled onion paste. stir well and mix the ginger garlic paste.
  5. Next add the cashew nut paste. stir well for 6-8 mins. ( note that it is cooked when the cashew nut paste forms a lump.)
  6. Now add 3-4 slit green chillies and keep stirring. add 3 cups of water. boil the gravy, then add salt,sugar and cream.
  7. Finally add the koftas in the gravy and serve it hot.
