Creamy Mushroom Masala

Ingredients to make Creamy Mushroom Masala

  • mushrooms - 200 gms cleaned washed and sliced
  • Green cardamom - 2
  • cinnamon - 1 inch
  • onion - 2 large finely sliced
  • tomato - 1 small chopped
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • cashew nut paste - 1 tbsp
  • yoghurt - 3 tbsp whisked
  • Kasoori methi/dried fenugreek leaves - 1 tsp lightly crushed between hands
  • Fresh cream - 1/3 cup
  • oil
  • salt - to taste

How to make Creamy Mushroom Masala

  1. In a kadhai heat oil, add green cardamom and cinnamon. Saute for few seconds
  2. Add onions and saute them till they are translucent
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell disappears
  4. Add tomato, red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt. Cook till oil separates
  5. Add cashew nut paste dissolved in 1/2 cup water and stir
  6. Add mushrooms and cook on medium heat for few minutes
  7. Lower the flame, add yoghurt while stirring continuously
  8. Add kasoori methi and mix well
  9. Add fresh cream and cook till gravy is thick
  10. Serve hot with roti or rice

My Tip:

I used kashmiri red chilli powder, so the nice colour Adjust gravy thickness as desired by adding more water
