Instant Jalebi

Ingredients to make Instant Jalebi

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp CORN flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp yogurt
  • water as required
  • 1/8 Yellow food colour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • oil for deep frying

How to make Instant Jalebi

  1. PUT 1 CUP SUGAR IN A PAN, ADD 1/4 CUP WATER
  2. STIR ON LOW HEAT TILL THE SUGAR DISSOLVES
  3. BOIL THE SUGAR SYRUP TO A 1 STRING CONSISTENCY
  4. ADD 1/2 TSP LEMON JUICE, 1/4 CARDAMOM POWDER, KEEP ASIDE
  5. MIX 1/2 CUP MAIDA, 1 TSP CORNFLOUR, 1 TSP CURD
  6. ADD 1/8 TSP FOOD COLOUR, MIX
  7. ADD 1/2 TSP VINEGAR & 2 TBSP WATER
  8. STIR CLOCKWISE FOR 5 MINS
  9. ADD 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA, MIX
  10. POUR THIS BATTER IN A MOULD
  11. THERE SHOULD BE A SMALL HOLE IN THE CAP LIKE THIS
  12. SQUEEZE & MAKE ROUND SPIRALS WITH THE BATTER IN HOT OIL
  13. SHAPE SMALL JAEBIS
  14. FLIP & COOK ON BOTH SIDES
  15. TAKE OFF HEAT WHEN GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  16. IMMEDIATELY DROP THEM INTO THE WARM SUGAR SYRUP, REST FOR 30 SECONDS
