Ingredients to make Pumpkin Khichdi (most comfort food)

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 Cup moong dal
  • 200 grams pumpkin cut small cube
  • 2 medium sized onion fine chopped
  • 1 fine chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 Black mustard seeds
  • 1/4 cumin seeds
  • 5 Chopped green chili
  • 1/4 turmeric powder
  • 2 red chili
  • 1 coriander powder
  • 1tbs garam masala
  • salt for taste
  • 1 sugar
  • ghee
  • coriander leaves

How to make Pumpkin Khichdi (most comfort food)

  1. Chop pumpkin in small size.
  2. Take a cooker, add ghee and add black mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, and green chili.
  3. Add chopped onion, tomatoes and pumpkin to it.
  4. Add Turmeric powder, dry chill ,garam masala, salt for taste, Sugar, dry coriander powder.
  5. Add washed rice and moong dal to it. Mix properly and on a low flame cook for two minutes.
  6. Add water and cook on a medium flame in the pressure cooker like usual khichdi.
  7. After 5-6 whistle turn off the stove.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves
  9. Pumpkin Khichdi is ready
  10. Serve with raita. Potato fry , Pickle, Papad . Ghee and green chutney.
