Palak masala rice

Ingredients to make Palak masala rice

  • 1/2 bunch (cut into small pieces) palak
  • Green peas - handful
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • a few sprigs of curry leaves
  • 1 cup rice
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp tumeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tblsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tblsp urud and channa dal
  • 1 tbsp jeera

How to make Palak masala rice

  1. First wash and cut the palak into small pieces and keep aside.
  2. Then cook the rice and set aside.
  3. Now take a wok, pour some oil and when the oil is hot, add urad dal,chana dal and jeera and fry till done.
  4. Now add the onions, ginger garlic paste and fry them.
  5. Add turmeric and red chilli powder and mix well.
  6. Add cut palak and nicely mix and close with a lid.
  7. Let the whole thing cook very well.
  8. When it is done, add garam masala powder if you want and saute for a minute.
  9. Take it wok from fire and add the rice and mix it well.
  10. Serve with raita.
