A very unique and easy to make melt in mouth ice halwa, a popular sweet from Bombay (Mumbai).

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup milk
  2. 1/4 cup semolina

Instructions

  1. MIX SEMOLINA, GHEE, SUGAR, MILK IN A LARGE HEAVY PAN.
  2. PLACE ON STOVE ON HIGH HEAT, BRING TO A BOIL WHILE STIRRING CONTINUOUSLY
  3. ADD FOOD COLOUR
  4. REDUCE HEAT, STIRRING CONTINUOUSLY, TILL A VERY SOFT DOUGH IS FORMED.
  5. TAKE OFF HEAT AND 1 TSP GHEE
  6. QUICKLY TRANSFER THE MIXTURE TO A GREASED BUTTER PAPER.
  7. CLOSE WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF PAPER AND ROLL THE MIXTURE INTO A THIN SHEET.
  8. SPRINKLE CHOPPED NUTS GENEROUSLY. GENTLY PRESS.
  9. REFRIGERATE FOR 2 HOURS. USING A KITCHEN KNIFE CUT THROUGH THE HALWA INTO SMALL SQUARES STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
