Ingredients to make sooji Upma

  • 1 cup roasted sooji
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1-2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1 carrot
  • 1-4 cup peas
  • 1 onion
  • 1 potato
  • salt, to taste
  • water, as required

How to make sooji Upma

  1. In a wok, heat oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  2. Add onions and sauté for a min.
  3. Add all the chopped veggies and stir for 2-3 mins.
  4. Add adequate water and salt and let the water come to boil.
  5. Cook the veggies for 3-4 mins on medium flame then add sooji.
  6. Stir continuously to avoid any lumps formation.
  7. Add more boiled water if you feel the consistency thick.
  8. Serve hot.
