  • 1 cup tightly packed curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp channa dal
  • 1 tbsp urad dal
  • 3 red chillies
  • 1/8 tsp asafoetida
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 Lemon sized tamarind

How to make Karvepaku Podi/Curry Leaves Podi

  1. Dry roast curry leaves, channa dal, urad dal and dried red chillies until curry leaves turn crisp.
  2. Add garlic cloves and tamarind and saute until the raw smell from the tamarind is gone.
  3. Remove from the flame and cool down completely.
  4. Blend everything into a slightly coarse powder.
