Ingredients to make Panjabi kadi pakoda

  • For kadhi :chickpea flour 1/2 cup
  • curd 700 gm whisked
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 2 teaspoon
  • green chillies 2 chopped
  • fenugreek seeds 1 teaspoon
  • coriander seeds 1 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  • oil 2 tablespoon
  • water 2 cups
  • onion 1 chopped
  • onion 1 paste
  • ginger 2 tablespoon chopped
  • garlic 4 tablespoon chopped
  • Tomato puree of 4 tomatoes
  • For pakodas:
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • water 1/4 cup
  • oil 1 tablespoon
  • salt to taste
  • green chillies chopped 1
  • ginger chopped 2 teaspoon
  • Carrom seeds 1 teaspoon
  • dry pomegranate seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  • Kasoori methi 1 tablespoon
  • oil for frying
  • For second tempering:
  • ghee 3 tablespoon
  • mustard seed 2 teaspoon
  • Chopped ginger 1 tablespoon
  • curry leaves
  • red chilli powder 2 teaspoon
  • red chilli whole 2

How to make Panjabi kadi pakoda

  1. First add besan and curd whisk it properly. Add turmeric powder . Keep it aside for 10 mintues.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and garlic. Saute it and add chopped onion and ginger saute it. After few minutes add onion paste. Cook it till it leaves oil.
  3. Add tomato puree and cook till it leaves oil. Add slitted green chillies and mix well. Add whisked curd mixture. And stir constantly. Keep stirring constantly on medium flame. Add water, salt and mix well.
  4. Keep cooking on medium flame for 30 minutes. Sitr occasionally.
  5. Add garam masala. After 30 minutes your kadhi is ready.
  6. Now make batter for pakoda mix all the ingredients except oil. Whisk well.
  7. Heat oil make dumplings and pour in oil and fry till crispy. Add these dumplings to kadhi and boil for 5 minutes. Add kasoori methi. Mix well.
  8. Now for 2nd tempering add ghee into a pan add all ingredients and when it starts spluttering pour this tempering over kadhi and close the lid.
  9. After few minutes mix well and garnish with coriander leaves.
  10. Your kadhi pakoda is ready to serve.

My Tip:

Stir occasionally kadhi otherwise it will burn or boil.
