Boiiled rice with sabut moong daal.... A comfort food for all aged people

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Basmati rice,.... 1 cup
  2. Sabut moong daal... 1 cup
  3. Salt, green chillies chopped to taste
  4. Masalas such as garam masala, coriander powder, jeera powder etc. As per taste
  5. Ghee... As desired (can be skipped totally)
  6. Ginger and garlic chopped 1 tea spoon each
  7. Tomato finely chopped... 1 big one

Instructions

  1. Soak rice and moong daal for 20 min after washing these thoroughly
  2. In a cooker put drained daal with salt and all the masalas, ginger, garlic, green chillies and 5 times water.
  3. Cook to 4 or 5 whistles. Open and check the consistency. If need be cook further to 1 or 2 whistles.
  4. In a patila put adequate water, let it boil. Add drained rice and salt. Cook till done. Seive extra water from rice and keep covered for 10 minutes
  5. In a plate arrange rice in the middle and pour daal from sides
  6. Remove katori, after tapping froand enjoy daal... A totally comfort food
