Rajma Rice

Ingredients to make Rajma Rice

  • 1 handfull of kidney beans
  • 2 onions grinded
  • 3-4 tomatoes grinded
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp dhaniya powder
  • 1 tsp amchur/mango powder
  • a pinch of garam masala
  • salt to taste

How to make Rajma Rice

  1. First soak the rajmas overnight or for atleast 3 hours.
  2. Pressure cook the rajma till they get soft.
  3. Heat oil in a wok, add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Now take grinded onions, garlic cloves and ginger, put it in the oil and saute.
  4. Add tomatoes, salt, chilli powder, dhaniya powder, mango powder and a pinch of sugar.
  5. Stir it till the masala starts leaving oil.
  6. Now put the masala in the rajma and pressure cook it again. Lastly add pinch of garam masala.
  7. Now garnish it with curd and onions.
