Masala Jeera Rice

Ingredients to make Masala Jeera Rice

  • Washed and soaked basmati rice 1 cup
  • water 3 to 4 glass
  • salt 1/4 tsp
  • For tadka :-
  • ghee 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chilli 1
  • cloves 4
  • bay leaf 1
  • star anise 1
  • asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped green garlic 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli chopped 2
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tbsp

How to make Masala Jeera Rice

  1. BOIL 3-4 CUPS WATER IN A COOKER, ADD 1 CUP PRE SOAKED BASMATI RICE
  2. ADD 1/4 TSP SALT, COOK FOR 10-15 MINS ON LOW HEAT
  3. STRAIN THE RICE, SET ASIDE FOR 20-30 MINS
  4. HEAT 1 TBSP GHEE
  5. ADD 1/2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS, 1 DRY RED CHILLI , 1 BAY LEAF, 3-4 CLOVES
  6. ADD 1 STAR ANISE, 1/2 TSP ASAFOETIDA
  7. ADD 1 TBSP CHOPPED SPRING ONION GREENS
  8. ADD 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, SAUTE FOR 1 MINUTE, TAKE OFF HEAT
  9. POUR TADKA OVER THE RICE
  10. ADD 1 TBSP CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES, MIX
