Raw Banana Parathas

Ingredients to make Raw Banana Parathas

  • Raw bananas 2
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Finely grated ginger and green chillies 1 tea spoon each
  • Asafoetida powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Whole wheat flour 2 cups
  • Required salt for roti and stuffing
  • curry leaves and coriander leaves finely chopped 2 table spoons
  • ghee 3 table spoons

How to make Raw Banana Parathas

  1. Remove the stem of the raw banana and steam cook it for 15 to 20 minutes or micro wave it till the skin becomes dark brown.
  2. Take 2 cups of whole wheat flour add required salt and a tea spoon of oil and mix well. Add water and knead it to a soft dough. Now the dough is ready for making Parathas. Keep it aside.
  3. Make sure the bananas are well boiled. After it gets cool down peel off the skin of it.
  4. In a broad bowl mash the boiled raw banana well and add all other ingredients mentioned above except the whole wheat flour and ghee.
  5. Mix well with your hand. Make them into small lemon size balls.
  6. Take a big lemon size balls from the wheat dough and roll them into 4 inch diameter thick rotis. Place the banana stuff at the centre.
  7. Bring the edges together and make them into balls.
  8. Again roll them into rotis.
  9. Cook on both sides in a tawa with oil or butter or ghee.

My Tip:

Adding grated ginger helps for easy digestion.
