Pan Fried Momos

Ingredients to make Pan Fried Momos

  • all purpose flour 1 cup
  • Baking powder 1/4 tsp
  • curd 2 tbsp
  • Pinch of salt
  • water 1/2 cup
  • oil 1/2 tsp
  • Grated carrot 100 gm
  • Grated cabbage - 1/4 th cup
  • Grated cauliflower - 2 tbsp
  • Chopped capsicum - 2 tbsp
  • Boiled peas - 2 tbsp
  • Chopped beans - 2 tbsp
  • oil for deep frying
  • Chopped garlic. 1tsp and 3tsp for the sauce
  • Chopped ginger. 1tsp
  • salt per taste
  • pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce. 1tsp
  • tomato sauce. 1tsp
  • Oyster sauce. 1tsp
  • red chilly sauce. 2tsp
  • Chopped spring onion for serving

How to make Pan Fried Momos

  1. Mix 1 cup of All purpose flour, 1/4 tsp of baking powder, 1/2 tsp oil, 2 tsp curd, 1/2 tsp of oil ,pinch of salt ,Add half of water and make a dough. In case the doe is too soft add 1 - 2 tsp of maida . The dough shouldn't be very soft or hard. It should be stretchable . Once the dough is ready keep it inside a wet towel , so that it does not get dry .
  2. For stuffing Take a mixing bowl and mix all the vegetables, chop capsicum , chop beans, boiled peas, chop garlic , chop ginger add salt and pepper as per taste add vinegar mix well and make a stuffing.
  3. Now make small puris out of dough and fill the stuffing and fold the momoz and deep fry the momo
  4. For the sauce Heat some oil in a frying pan ,add chopped garlic fry till the garlic turns slight brown
  5. Add tomato sauce , soya sauce ,oeaster sauce, red chille sauce and mix well add pepper powder , add fried momos and give a good toss and serve hot with spring onion

My Tip:

The dough has to be perfect , not to hard nor too soft Always keep the dough in a wet towel . When you roll the dough make sure you get it very thin Don't add too much of stuffing it might tear
