Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. I medium size raw jackfruit
  2. Onion 2 small chopped
  3. garlic 2 pods crushed
  4. Ginger 1 inch crushed
  5. Potato 2 large
  6. Tomato 1 Large
  7. Spices :
  8. Cumin powder 2 tsp
  9. Coriander 1 1/2 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  12. salt as per taste
  13. Cloves 3-4
  14. Bay leaves 2
  15. Big cardamom 2
  16. Black pepper 3-4
  17. Cinnamon stick 1 inch
  18. Mustard oil 3-4 tsp
  19. Ghee 2 tsp
  20. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Cut jackfruit in half , wash properly
  2. Pressure cook jackfruit pieces for one whistle in medium heat , keep aside
  3. Now peel it and cut in medium size cubes , discard the hard mid rib
  4. Peel potatoes , cut in 4 cubes each potato
  5. Slice onions
  6. Heat oil in a big kadai
  7. Fry potatoes with little salt until light red , keep aside
  8. add bay leaves , in the same kadai saute for 30 secs in low heat
  9. Add crushed cardamom, cinnamon,cloves and ginger
  10. Saute in low heat for 30 seconds
  11. Add cumin , coriander , chilli powder .
  12. Saute for a minute in low heat
  13. Add chopped tomato , cook in low heat until tomatoes are sift
  14. Add boiled jackfruit pieces , fry them in low heat with all the spices add salt too. Add some more oil if needed
  15. Add 1 cup hot water , add fried potatoes. Cover and cook for 5_7 minutes in low heat
  16. When gravy turns thick and potatoes are soft take off heat.
  17. Sprinkle garam masala and ghee
  18. Serve hot with plain rice
