Penne Pasta

Ingredients to make Penne Pasta

  • For the white sauce:
  • 2 tbsp whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt as per taste
  • pepper as per taste
  • 2 cups assorted vegetables:
  • cabbage 1/2
  • Red and Yellow Bell peppers
  • French beans
  • carrot 1
  • Boiled penne pasta (as per instructions on the pack)
  • 1 cup bread trimmings
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Fresh coriander/ basil
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

How to make Penne Pasta

  1. Heat pan till its very hot. Add olive oil. Saute vegetables till slightly charred. Keep aside.
  2. In the same pan heat butter. Saute whole wheat flour for 15 seconds. Add milk slowly whilst whisking continuously. Add salt and pepper.
  3. For the crumb mix, blend the bread with butter.
  4. Mix the vegetables with white sauce. Transfer into an oven proof dish. Top with the crumb mix.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
