Chicken Bezule (Mangalorean Fried chicken)

Ingredients to make Chicken Bezule (Mangalorean Fried chicken)

  • 1/2 kg chicken(bone /boneless)
  • To grind: coriander leaves - a handful
  • 15 - curry leaves
  • 3 green chillies
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tsp chilly powder
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • Few drops of red food color (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1 tbsp All Purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp curd
  • oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste

How to make Chicken Bezule (Mangalorean Fried chicken)

  1. Grind the ingredients listed under to grind into a coarse paste.
  2. To the ground paste add all the ingredients except flour (rice and all purpose flour). Marinate for a minimum of 4 hours or better overnight.
  3. Before frying, coat in the flours. Deep fry and serve hot.

My Tip:

Adjust chilli powder or green chillies as per taste, original recipe is a spicy one.
