Ingredients to make Homemade Italian Piadina/Piada bread

  • 4 cups Plain flour
  • 2 tbsp Softened butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • Water as required for kneading

How to make Homemade Italian Piadina/Piada bread

  1. Combine salt, baking powder and flour together in a large bowl.
  2. Rub in the butter and add water to knead into a smooth dough.
  3. The dough should be just like chapati dough. Leave to rest for half an hour.
  4. Pinch off balls and roll out like chapatis. Prick with a fork all over.
  5. Heat a heavy skillet and roast the piadinas till brown specks appear on both sides.
  6. Keep covered till ready to use. Can be wrapped and stored for a couple of days.
My Tip: I also love to fill them with peanut butter and jam for a sweet treat!
