Creamy Butter Chicken

Ingredients to make Creamy Butter Chicken

  • chicken 1/2 kg
  • butter - 4- 5 tbsp
  • red chilli powder -1/2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder -1/2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • onions chopped - 1 big
  • tomato puree - 1 big sized tomato
  • cinnamon stick - 1 no
  • Green elaichi -3-4 nos
  • garlic pods - 5 nos
  • ginger piece - 1 inch
  • sugar - 1/2 tbsp
  • Fresh cream - 2-3 tbsp
  • Few cumin seeds
  • Few black pepper seeds

How to make Creamy Butter Chicken

  1. Put butter in a wok with little oil, the oil will keep the butter from burning. Add the chopped onions, garlic, ginger piece, cumin seeds, green elachi seeds, cinnamon stick, black pepper and saute it well. Cool and grind to make a powder.
  2. Now in the same pan, add a little butter again, then add the the paste and bhunofy with all spices, red chilli powder, turmeric, salt , add tomato puree as well.
  3. Now add the washed chicken and mix all the masala in it. Add a little water to cook the chicken.
  4. Now add fresh cream, tomato sauce and sugar and cook it for a few more minutes.
  5. Pour it in a serving dish and garnish it with fresh cream and coriander leaves.
  6. Serve it hot and enjoy with roti , chapati or rice.

My Tip:

The tomato sauce will give it a nice colour and add flavours to the butter chicken.
