About Raw banana Mor Kulambu Recipe

Mor kulambu is a favourite south indian curry made with curd and vegetable of your choice. It tastes awesome with hot rice.

Raw banana Mor Kulambu

Ingredients to make Raw banana Mor Kulambu

  • Raw banana - 2
  • curd - 1 cup
  • Raw rice - 1 TBSP
  • coconut shredded - 2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies - 3
  • cumin seeds - 2 tsp
  • salt as required
  • coconut oil - 1 tbsp
  • mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Split urad dal - 1/4 tbsp
  • curry leaves few
  • water as required

How to make Raw banana Mor Kulambu

  1. Boil the diced raw bananas in a pan with turmeric powder and salt.
  2. Soak the raw rice for 15- 20 mins along with cumin seeds and green chillies.
  3. Grind the coconut with raw rice, green chillies and cumin seeds.Once the vegetable is cooked, add this paste to it and bring it to a boil. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add water if needed. Whisk the curd well without any lumps and add to the curry and cook on low heat untill the top turns frothy. Check for seasoning.
  5. Stir well to avoid curdling and remove the pan off the heat once it reaches boiling point.
  6. In a small tadka pan, heat Coconut oil and add mustard seeds. When splutters add split urad dal and curry leaves.
  7. Once it turns brown, take off the heat and add to the curry and serve hot with rice.
