chana masala

Ingredients to make chana masala

  • Boiled chana 1 cup
  • Onion 2
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Green chillies 2 chopped
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder a pinch
  • Lemon 1/2
  • Oil as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Mint leaves for garnishing
  • Chole masala powder 2 tsp
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Chopped ginger-garlic 1 tsp

How to make chana masala

  1. In a vessel, heat some oil then add the chopped ginger-garlic, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute this for 1 min.
  2. Next add the onion and fry till it turns golden brown in colour.
  3. Than add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli, turmeric powder, chole masala and fry it for 2 mins.
  4. Than add coriander leaves, tomatoes and fry for 5 mins. After this, add the boiled chana and mix well, cook this for another 10 mins.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 lemon juice and mix well. Garnish it with mint leaves and onion rings.
  6. Spicy chana masala is ready to be served!
My Tip: While boiling the chana, add 1 green chilli, little onion and oil for a better taste.
