ABOUT Kola Chorchori RECIPE

Presenting a healthy recipe of tender raw banana. Raw bananas have a good source of iron and nutrients. This recipe is an old recipe of Grandma’s cooking. This is specially made made with the tender bananas which are like finger size length and cooked in mustard mustard seeds paste. It best goes with plain rice and is a typical Bengali style recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw tender bananas 10-15
  2. Onion seeds/kalongi 1/2 tablespoon
  3. Mustard oil 4-5 tablespoon
  4. Mustard paste 3 tablespoon
  5. Ginger paste 1/2 tablespoon
  6. Green chillies 3
  7. salt 1/2 tablespoon
  8. turmeric powder 1/3 tablespoon
  9. water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and cut into half lengthwise
  2. Make a paste of mustard seeds, green chilli and ginger
  3. Heat a pan with mustard oil and temper kalongi/onion seeds and add the raw banana in it with salt and turmeric powder
  4. After sautéing for few minutes, add the mustard paste in it and stir well
  5. Add a cup of water and boil till cooked
  6. Serve after the water dries up with green chilli

It is little spicy with the flavour of mustard oil and mustard paste. A healthy and tasty recipe.
