Chicken Pahadi

Ingredients to make Chicken Pahadi

  • Chicken (boneless) cut into chunks- 200 gms ( However I have used chicken with bones)
  • Ginger paste-2 tsp
  • Garlic paste-2 tsp
  • Green chilli paste-1 tsp
  • Garam masala-1 tsp
  • Hung Curd-100 gms
  • Coriander leaves-1 bunch
  • Mint leaves-1 bunch
  • Spinach-5 or 6 leaves
  • Lemon juice-2 tsp
  • Onion-100 gms
  • Mustard oil-2 tsp
  • Sliced carrots/ sliced cucumber /lemon rings /onion rings to garnish

How to make Chicken Pahadi

  1. Marinate the chicken chunks with salt, chilli paste and lemon juice. Keep it aside.
  2. Grind the coriander leaves, mint leaves and spinach together into a fine paste. Add the hung curd, ginger paste, garlic paste and garam masala to the above paste. Mix it thoroughly. Add this to the marinated chicken chunks.
  3. Keep these chunks in the refrigerator for 30 mins. Remove the chunks from the refrigerator at least 10 minutes before cooking.
  4. Grill the chunks on skewers or an oven. Cook until the chicken becomes brown and tender.
  5. Garnish and serve it hot with mint chutney.

My Tip:

You can add a pinch of green color or retain the same natural green colors of mint, coriander and spinach.
