Nectarine Tart

Ingredients to make Nectarine Tart

  • Puff pastry( I used frozen)- 1 sheet
  • Nectarines(use any stone fruit)- 2-3
  • Sugar- 2-3 tbsp
  • Flour- 1-2 tsp
  • Egg (or milk)- 1 (1 tbsp)

How to make Nectarine Tart

  1. Let the sheet of puff pastry thaw slightly. With a knife score (do not cut) a border all around it. With a fork dock the puff pastry inside the border (so it doesn't rise). We want the border to rise so it holds the fruit in the centre.
  2. Sprinkle a tablespoon or so of sugar all over the puff pastry and bake in a 180C preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile cut the nectarines into slices and toss with a teaspoon or so of flour. Add sugar (depending on the sweetness of the fruit).
  4. Beat the egg. Remove the puff pastry from the oven, arrange the fruit in the centre and brush the sides with the egg. Return to the oven until the sides are browned and the fruit has softened.
My Tip: Goes really well with vanilla ice cream.
